-
- OVERVIEW: Here's a handy utility for all you Doom fanatics. Those of
- you familiar with the DMAUD.EXE program will appreciate this. It is
- a front end for the command line based Doom Audio Sound Editor.
- Now you can select your .wav files for Doom quickly and painlessly!
- Plus, since it is in database format, you can add new .wav files, and
- delete existing ones from the database. As an added bonus, Doom
- Audio Studio comes with over 100 .wav files pre-selected for you to
- test out!
-
-
- REQUIREMENTS: This program has been tested on a 486/33 with 4 MB RAM.
- Anything less, and you probably shouldn't be playing Doom :) You
- must have a sound blaster compatible card installed.
-
-
- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: For your convenience, you can install Doom
- Audio Studio into any directory. Simply unzip all files in this zip
- to the directory of your choice. You can also unzip it to your Doom
- directory, but this is not reccomended since the directory will be
- cluttered with .wav files!
-
-
- FEATURES: For online help, simply hit F1 from the main window for
- a complete list of commands. I will describe some in detail now:
-
- Enter (from the right window) - selects .wav file to add to Doom. You
- will be able to hear it as well
-
- A/INS - Inserts a new .wav file into the database. You can add a file
- in any path. Simply enter the complete path of the .wav
- file (i.e. c:\windows\beep.wav). .wav extentions will be
- assumed if not specified, but any sound format can be used!
- There is no need to enter the path, if the sound file is in
- your current directory. Sound files must be in DMAUD.exe
- compatible format.
-
- D/DEL - Deletes .wav file from the database. NOTE: You cannot delete
- any DOOM??.wav files. These are the default DOOM sound files
- and are needed in case you decide you want to use the L option
- (see below)
-
- L - This one's a beauty! If you are unhappy with your choice in
- sounds, simple hit L, and Doom Audio Studio will load back
- all your origional Doom sounds! No need to backup the 10MB+
- Doom.wad file anymore!
-
-
- LIMITATIONS: This file was compiled for speed and efficiency. Becuase
- of this, you are limited to 64k of data. You should be able to add
- about 45 .wav files to the database before running out of memory.
- If this happens, simply delete some sounds from the database, and try
- again. If I decide to make a new version of this, I will correct this
- problem.
